The Latest on the Power Lines

In his State of the State Address last week, Governor Andrew Cuomo spoke of this intention to "expedite transmission projects that rely on existing transmission corridors and state-owned rights-of-way." None of the four proposals that have been submitted to the Public Service Commission does that.

Late this afternoon, Gossips learned from Pam Kline of Farmers and Families for Livingston that the deadline for scoping comments, which had been extended until February 21, has now been extended indefinitely, until further notice. On February 20, 2014, the Public Service Commission will be presenting new siting standards to project developers. This seems to be a very promising development.
